In 2024, Dean Janikowski was honored as a finalist for the Wuerffel Trophy, highlighting his exceptional commitment to community service, academic success, and athletic contribution — particularly through his work raising significant support for cancer research and patient programs in memory of his mother.
Through his leadership with the Heather Janikowski Foundation, Dean has helped expand access to cancer support resources and funding initiatives throughout the Eastern Washington region.
