Supporters commit to donating based on a custom point system tied directly to Jack’s defensive performance throughout the season. \nThe Tackling Cancer Point System\nEvery play matters — and every tackle earns points toward the fight: \n\n0.5 Tackle (Assist) = 1 Point\n1 Solo Tackle = 3 Points\n2 Tackles in a Game = 5 Points\n3 Tackles or a Sack = 10 Points\n\nThis structure allows fans to pledge a dollar amount per point scored during the season. The more impact on the field\, the greater the impact off it. \nHow It Works — Example\nIf Jack records two tackles in one game — one solo tackle and one assisted tackle — the scoring would look like this: \n\n1 Solo Tackle = 3 Points\n1 Assisted Tackle = 1 Point\nTotal = 4 Points for that game\n\nIf a supporter pledges $10 per point\, that single game would generate a $40 donation toward supporting families affected by cancer. \nMore Than a Game\nTackling Cancer keeps the Iowa State community engaged all season long.
